Here's a detailed look at its key features and what makes it stand out:

Key Features

  • Frame Material: Carbon Fiber. This is the most significant upgrade from the aluminum Ripley AF models. The carbon frame offers a lighter weight, increased stiffness for better power transfer and handling, and often improved vibration damping for a more comfortable ride. The frame typically weighs around 5.4 lbs (size medium, without shock).
  • Wheel Size: 29-inch wheels for excellent rollover and momentum. The frame also features a flip-chip, allowing for conversion to a mixed ("mullet") wheel setup (29" front, 27.5" rear) if desired.

  • Suspension:
    • Front: 140mm travel Fox Factory Float 34 fork with Grip X damper. This is an upgrade to the Performance series forks on the AF models, offering more sophisticated damping adjustability for optimized performance on varied terrain.
    • Rear: 130mm travel DW-Link suspension with a Fox Float Factory DPS rear shock. The DW-Link is known for its efficient pedaling and plushness on descents. The Factory series shock provides high-end adjustability.
  • Drivetrain: SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission 1x12 speed. This is a wireless electronic drivetrain, offering incredibly precise and consistent shifting performance without the need for cable adjustments. It typically includes a 32T chainring and a wide-range 10-52T cassette.
  • Brakes: SRAM G2 or Code RSC 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors. These are powerful brakes providing excellent stopping power and modulation, crucial for confident descending on technical trails. The specific model (G2 or Code RSC) can sometimes vary slightly depending on the exact build and availability.
  • Tires: Maxxis DHR2 29" x 2.4" (front) and Maxxis Rekon or Dissector 29" x 2.4" (rear) with EXO casings. These are high-quality tires offering a good balance of grip, rolling resistance, and durability for trail riding.
  • Geometry: Modern trail geometry with a slacker head tube angle (around 64.9 degrees) for confident descending and a steeper seat tube angle (around 77.4-77.9 degrees, size-specific) for efficient climbing. The chainstay length is also often size-specific (around 436-442mm).
  • Dropper Post: Bike Yoke Revive dropper post, with travel varying by frame size (Small: 125mm, Medium: 160mm, X-Medium: 185mm, Large/XL: 213mm on some models). The Bike Yoke Revive is highly regarded for its reliability and easy reset feature.
