Annual Ski Consignment Sale Over Labor Day Weekend
It's the biggest event of the year! High-quality used ski gear will be lined up and on sale over Labor Day Weekend during the annual Start Haus Ski Consignment Sale. We literally take in 100s of pairs of skis - and it is some great gear - including, backcountry skis, powder skis, all-mountain skis, race skis, carving skis and speed suits. Peruse a wide range of ski gear, outfit the entire family for the winter and get great deals all weekend long.
Ski Consignment Sale Hours: Friday, September 4th through Sunday, September 6th, 2026 | 8am to 6pm daily
Coffee & Breakfast: We're excited to have our friends from MogRog at the shop on Friday and Saturday mornings starting at 7am (for ya early birds). They'll be serving up a couple of breakfast options along with drip coffee.
Pro Tip: We will have great deals on skis all weekend long but customers will start lining up early on Friday morning to buy.
Sell Your Skis
It's time to dust off that ski gear and get it ready for the annual Start Haus Consignment Sale!
We begin accepting skis on August 7, 2026. Bring in your powder skis, carving skis, backcountry skis, all-mountain skis, groomer skis and race skis for the sale.... we are taking it all! Flat or mounted!
All customers who sell their gear during the consignment sale receive 70% back in the form of in-store credit or 60% back as cash (check).
Note: Skis with base damage, that are delaminating or with cracked and thin edges will not be accepted. All ski should be 5 years or newer and bindings must be indemnified.
When you drop off your skis we will work with you on determining a price for your gear!
Psst....We are also accepting untattered speed suits.
After the Sale
Shortly after the sale ends Labor Day Weekend we will be in touch to let you know if your gear sold or not.
You Sold Your Gear: Hurray! You sold your gear at the consignment sale! Consignment in-store credit will be available to spend immediately and checks will be available to pick up Friday, September 11th. A reminder that you get to choose either 70% in-store credit or 60% in cash (check).
Shucks. Your Gear Didn't Sell: If your gear didn't sell you have until Sunday, September 20th to pick up your unsold skis. After that date, it will be donated to a local non-profit.
Demo Bike Sale Over Labor Day Weekend Only
That's right! Find the BEST bike deals of the season during Labor Day weekend and take up to 50% OFF. A handful of rental bikes will be on sale and you'll also be able to find great deals on brand new bikes. Bikes on sale will include eBikes, pedal bikes, junior bikes and more! Snag a great deal and head out on singletrack this fall with a brand new ride.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our sale takes place every Labor Day Weekend (Friday through Sunday). Doors open Friday morning at 8:00 AM, but serious bargain hunters often start lining up early outside the shop to get first choice of gear.
Start Haus accepts all types of alpine skis, backcountry/touring skis, powder skis, groomer skis, all-mountain skis, kids skis, race skis, and speed suits. Both flat or mounted! Race skis should be 5 years or newer.
Note: Ski boots, helmets, softgoods/apparel, and poles are not accepted for consignment.
When your gear sells, you have two payout options:
- 70% in Start Haus Store Credit (great if you plan to upgrade or buy gear for the coming season).
- 60% in Cash / Check mailed to you after the event concludes.

Bring your gear into the shop! The Start Haus team will review your gear, confirm the bindings are safe, and help you set a fair, realistic price based on market value to make sure it sells.
The shop parking lot is packed with hundreds of pairs of pre-owned skis—ranging from powder sticks and backcountry setups to high-end race skis. Because of the massive selection, bargain hunters and ski families come from all over the Bay Area, Sacramento, Reno, and the local Tahoe communities to grab the best gear before the first snowfall.
