Wild Belle

The Wild Belle is built on a 84mm waist width and uses a double wide, lightweight stringer down the center of the wood core. This is a ski that resides in the top performance group of Nordica’s flat deck “Belle” series of skis, but is just slightly softer in the tail than some the expert only models. This width range is ideal as an an all mountain tool for the woman with a bias toward packed snow but an occasional appetite for off trail use as well.

On snow this ski is lightning quick and very energetic showing a lot of rebound energy especially in short radius turns. A good skier can lay in big angles and arc turns like crazy but an intermediate will find this width range facilitates lower angle, skidded turns as well. Here at Start Haus, we like building bikes.  So much so in fact, we've starting building up Tahoe dream bikes just for you.  Starting with a stock Giant bike, such as the Trance Advanced 2, we add and mod how we like to ride em.

First off, why keep all that extra weight on your crank?  With our custom built bikes, we like to git rid of the front derailleur and shifter hardware, swap out the cassette in conjunction with upgraded Shimano X1 components, add a RaceFace narrow wide chainring, thereby making an 11 by 1 drivetrain. But why stop there?!  We swap out the stock fork for one of our all time favorites, the Rock Shox Pike.  In either a 150mm or 160mm, the Pike is one killer fork.  Excellent damping, perfect travel, and amazing durability.

Beyond that, we might swap a stem, or throw on an upgraded wheelset like Stan's TR Flow's.  All this makes what we think is the perfect Tahoe trail bike.  Swing by and check it out!

Time to gear up for the sale of the year!  Starting August 1st, we'll begin accepting skis, speed suits, and training shorts. Same as last year, any item checked in for the sale is good for 80% store credit, or 60% cash (in the form of a check).

Updates:

We will accept gear throughout the sale until Sunday evening at closing.  No gear will be accepted on Monday the 7th.  Ski check in will be outside the building near the tents.

The sale itself is the same as always, Labor Day weekend 2015- that's Friday September 4th through Monday September 7th.

Store Hours are normal:  9AM to 6PM every day

Show up early!  The line can wrap around the building.  And please be courteous where you choose to park and not block our neighboring businesses (or park in the handicap spaces).
